Round conical poles are the most economical section for street and area lighting. The tapered round body carries the long arm and the short arm equally well, which is why this configuration is often specified where a main carriageway and a footpath have to be lit from a single pole.

Supplied with base plate, door, cable entry and lamp arm, hot-dip galvanised as standard, or galvanised and powder coated to a RAL colour when the specification calls for it.

Where the unequal double arm fits

Two arms on opposite sides at equal height but different reach: a long arm of about 1.8 m over the carriageway and a short arm of about 1.0 m over the footpath. That asymmetry is the whole point — each side is lit to its own requirement instead of forcing one reach to serve both.

Round section, 6–12 m, Q235/Q235B/Q345, hot-dip galvanised with optional RAL powder coat. Because the reaches differ, the base sees an unbalanced moment even though the arms are at equal height; the drawing has to show the arm lengths explicitly.

  • Long arm ≈ 1.8 m (carriageway), short arm ≈ 1.0 m (footpath), equal height.
  • Unbalanced moment — size the base plate for the long-arm side.
  • State the footway width so the short arm does not overreach the kerb.
