Two arms leave the pole on opposite sides at equal height and close into a semi-ellipse loop. Because the loop is continuous, the two luminaires sit at the ends of the same form.

Where the Semi-Ellipse double-arm fits
Two arms forming half an ellipse across the pole, equal height on opposite sides. The continuous curve across the top is the point: from the road it reads as one bracket passing over the shaft rather than two arms meeting at it.
It suits median installations on dual carriageways and boulevards, where the pole is seen head-on by approaching traffic. Round conical shaft, 6–12 m, arms welded at the required height. For a spiral variant of the same idea, see the curvilinear spiral.
